Camping Ground
A small family run certified site. The site was established in 2013 to help address the lack of camping facilities on Barra and reduce the pressure on the Islands infrastructure and environment from wild camping

A modern toilet/shower block houses a washing machine, £3.50 per wash.
A mix of level and slightly sloping grass pitches, most with electrical hook-up.
Chemical deposit point, dish-washing & storage area, in-door & outdoor drying.

Situated at Barra's Northern point, with good shelter from prevailing winds, its position commands fantastic views across the Sound of Barra towards Eriskay and South Uist as well as the many uninhabited Islands

Half a minutes walk from your pitch takes you to the mile long white sandy beach, traigh Scurrival, which extends onwards to several other beaches to link with our famous Traigh Mhor, beach runway and Airport. To the west are the Atlantic facing dunes and beaches with breakers popular with surfers.

The prime location to see the elusive corncrake as well as other rare birds and easy access to areas where seals,otters, dolphins, sharks, whales, can often be often viewed. Over 1000 wild flowers and plants unique to the areas contribute to the ever changing scenery throughout the seasons.

An Ideal place to access many of the Islands diverse habitats. Our beach can be accessed directly from the site and extends for several miles southwards to the beach airport runways. The short turbine walk take you to the NW point of the Island which is a popular spot to view amazing sunsets, The cliff side walks to the west of the site and the rocky shore line to the North offer a full suit of scenic features. We offer paddle-board and kayaks hire on site.
